THIS IS THE SPOTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!! I went to this place two weekends in a row. If you're looking for LEEEGGGITTTT Vietnamese food, this is the place! I recently moved to AZ from The Bay Area and have been craving banh mi, banh cuon and banh xeo.... all of which place has *mind blown* Most Vietnamese places only offer banh mi and pho so this place is a blessing! In most banh mi shops in the Bay Area, they usually have little Vietnamese dishes you can eat on the side and hot foods that you can take to-go so it was nice to see this place offer the same PLUS a sit-down (mostly self-serve) restaurant on the side to eat all the goodies! Now when I say self-serve, you order your pho on the register on the left side and pick up the pho when it's ready :) It's funny because they do announce your number on the speaker and they do go above and beyond to deliver the food to you if you somehow forget to pick it up LOL What I appreciate the most about this place is that everything seems to be made from scratch, including the Vietnamese meatballs (which you can buy as a snack or in a pack from the freezer area). They offer so many different drinks as well but my go-to has been the Vietnamese coffee!!! What we've gotten so far are: -Roasted Pork Belly & Kim Thao Banh Mi: Really good and not surprisingly dry! I love the fluffly-ness of their bread. I think the only thing I wasn't used to was the fact that it didn't have sliced jalapenos in them, but I'm sure you can request them.. which I'll do next time :) -Banh Cuon: I loooooove banh cuon and to see them even offer it was surprisingly to me. If you haven't had it before, it's almost like a Vietnamese dim sum filled with ground pork and mushrooms! -Bun Bo Hue: This is basically like a spicer version of pho so if you like something naturally spicy, this is a good soup to go to especially when you feel sick. Overall, the dish was great for its price and for the amount you get, but the meat was unfortunately a little chewy so it could have been cooked a little longer. The place has very minor flaws but I still think it deserves a lot of recognition and love!!!!

The food here is delicious and fresh!!! Love all the options available! The service is a great. The owner is so nice! The restaurant is spacious. You order your food and can sit at any table but you have to go get your food at the window. Great authentic Vietnamese food! One of my favorite restaurants!

Kim Thao's has been on my list for a while, but I guess I forgot about it until very recently. I went there later in the day, so they were out of most of their prepackaged meal boxes, unfortunately. I got the grilled pork banh mi and it was good! You can order ahead, but I like going in to see which options interest me.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 First time here and let me tell you !!! This would not be my last! I had ordered the 'kimthao banh mi' 100% recommend! Very good and great in portion! I had also got their grass jelly dessert and let me just say, it was everything I remember in my childhood, lol. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick bite or simply a quick food to go.

It was nice to come here on my third visit, this time with someone who could provide details of some Vietnamese items I've been wanting to try. After browsing through the hot and cold items displayed, we chose a Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio/grilled pork and rice, a souffle like entree served in an aluminum tin, roasted pork, a fresh bun and beverages che banh lot. We actually had some of the half pound of their roasted pork $11 and an egg dish sold in a tin. The pork was tasty, fatty and delicious. It was a difference from the Chinese Roasted pork that I'm familiar with. Beautiful when tucked in one of the fresh banh mi rolls. I can't recall what the egg entree was named but it was very good as we washed it all down with the best purchase of the day- the jelly drinks made with coconut milk! These $5.99 beverages are found in the refrigerator ready to go. I don't know what the fat and caloric numbers are but it is sweet and filling! Delish! I always love grilled pork, pickled vegetables and fresh vermicelli noodles accompanied by fish sauce. This combo is always one of my favorites at any Vietnamese place. This $13.99 entree was sold with a crispy egg roll as well. We were too full by this time so I took it home. Next to try- the fresh soy milk and a shrimp entree!

As a returning patron of KimThao's Bakery and Food to Go, I've consistently been impressed by their banh mi, which I boldly claim as some of the best in town. The delightful fusion of flavors nestled between slices of their usually soft, fresh bread is a culinary journey worth taking. During my most recent visit, which was later in the day, I noticed the bread had lost some of its characteristic tenderness, leaning towards the harder side. This slight deviation from the norm didn't overshadow the overall quality of the meal, which remained high. My experience seems to be an exception rather than the rule at this establishment. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend KimThao's Bakery for anyone seeking an authentic banh mi experience. Just a small tip: swinging by earlier might just secure you a sandwich with the freshest bread possible. Happy eating!

KimThao's is best Vietnamese cafe and bakery in the Valley! Parking is aplenty and easy. And there never has been more than a few other people on line in front of me when have been there. I have tried many of their dishes and desserts... and have never been disappointed! The most memorable (and delicious) include the steamed banana cake, crispy roasted pork, and the pork and shrimp spring rolls! While many Vietnamese dishes are gluten-free, they could probably do a little better job of pointing out which items are (or are not) gluten-free. Prices seem to be a bit higher than some other Vietnamese places, but this is truly one of those examples where you really do get what you pay for. Well worth it! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS**** Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****
